The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty is a vital position that blends leadership, guest service, and operational excellence. Job Requirements

  • Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to perform continuous mobility throughout the store including twisting
  • Ability to frequently bend, pull, push, crouch, stoop, twist, and reach during the shift
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds during the shift
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects throughout the shift
  • Ability to comply with company dress code
  • Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competence in selling
  • Experience addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Experience in training new hires
  • Proficient with point of sale systems and Apple devices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Ability to remain calm, use good judgment, and adapt under pressure

Job Duties

  • Ensure efficient guest transactions and maintain excellence in cashwrap standards including cleanliness and aesthetics
  • Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates
  • Drive sales, guest experience, and loyalty results by engaging guests and promoting loyalty programs including credit
  • Support leadership team with register open and close functions, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat in/outs
  • Maintain guest-ready cashwrap displays and impulse fixtures
  • Provide exceptional service by greeting guests, personalizing recommendations, handling sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously
  • Collaborate with store managers and associates to grow business and execute services and events that enhance guest experiences
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and dress code
  • Ensure proper control of cash and media, and compliance with loss prevention standards
  • Maintain overall store cleanliness including cashwrap, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break areas
