The Lead Baker position at DiBella's is a critical and valued role requiring early morning dedication to baking bread the DiBella's way consistently. As the Lead Baker, you will be responsible for baking fresh bread daily while strictly following DiBella’s baking manual and daily par lists to meet customer demand without compromising quality. Maintaining an organized and clean bakery area and promptly reporting equipment issues are essential responsibilities to ensure smooth operational flow. Safety is paramount; thus, adherence to safety protocols and proper use of safety equipment is required to protect all crew members and guests.

Beyond baking duties, the Lead Baker also engages in friendly, efficient customer service and food preparation, including setting up deli products, preparing hot and cold sandwiches, and ensuring all food presentation aligns with company quality standards. Attention to detail extends to the cleanliness and sanitation of customer-facing and food storage areas in compliance with Health Department standards. This role demands the ability to multitask effectively during peak hours, maintain focus, and work in a fast-paced environment while balancing friendliness and efficiency.

Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to read and interpret documents such as the baking manual and communicate clearly with customers and team members is necessary. Job Duties

  • Bake the best bread possible using the procedures in the DiBella’s Bread Manual
  • follow the locations par list for the amount to bake on a daily basis
  • keep the bakery clean and organized and report any equipment deficiencies
  • utilize all safety equipment provided to ensure crew and guest safety
  • prepare and serve menu items according to portion guidelines
  • properly set up deli products/items such as cheeses, meats, breads, condiments, sauces, napkins, and wrap paper
  • prepare hot and cold sandwiches at the customer’s request
  • display excellent customer service at all times
  • ensure cleanliness of grills, deli counter, counter sink, and more
  • develop a work pace sufficient to handle heavy rushes
  • fulfill all shift duties
  • maintain customer viewed areas and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards
  • comply with Health Department Regulations
  • willingness to increase product knowledge over time
  • perform any other duties as assigned by the managers
