The Bakery Cook position at Marriott offers an exciting opportunity to join this world-class hospitality team. The role involves preparing breads and pastries, encompassing the full baking process — from mixing doughs and fillings to proofing, baking, and decorating finished products. The Bakery Cook will work closely with production sheets to ensure the daily variety of baked goods meets quality, presentation, and recipe standards and will comply strictly with food safety programs, maintaining kitchen logs and monitoring appliance and food temperatures.

Beyond food preparation, the Bakery Cook will assist management with various team leadership responsibilities, including hiring support, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees while serving as a positive role model in the department. Maintaining clean and professional appearance standards, adhering to safety policies, and fostering a respectful and confidential workplace environment are integral parts of this position. Physically, the role demands standing for extended periods, handling kitchen equipment safely, and moving objects up to 25 pounds.

The position is ideally suited for candidates with at least two years of relevant baking or culinary experience and a technical or vocational school degree. Job Requirements

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree
  • at least 2 years of related baking or culinary work experience
  • ability to follow food safety policies and procedures
  • capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds
  • ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • willingness to comply with company policies and complete safety training
  • professional appearance and hygiene
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties
