Job Requirements
- Must have valid Florida driver's license with a clean record
- Must maintain good attendance and arrive to work on time every day
- Must have one year experience in lawn and ornamental, pest control, or horticulture industry preferred
- Must have knowledge of how to properly apply pesticides and fertilizers
- Must have ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight
- Must be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the working day
- Must be able to safely operate power equipment and drive a truck and trailer
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must possess GI-BMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferred
Job Qualifications
- One year experience in lawn and ornamental, pest control, or horticulture industry preferred
- GI-BMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferred
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean record
- Ability to identify various plants and turf species
- Excellent communication skills with employees and customers
- Knowledge of how to properly apply pesticides and fertilizers
- Knowledge of proper calibration of spray equipment
- Knowledge of turf and ornamental problems including insects, disease, and weeds
- Experience operating zero-turn machines like the Zspray
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight
- Ability to bend, twist, and lift throughout the working day
- Ability to use mobile devices or tablets
- Ability to safely drive a truck and trailer
Job Duties
- Correctly performing IPM - identifying, diagnosing and treating turf and ornamental issues in a safe manner
- Applying fertilizers and pesticides to turf and plant material according to state and local regulations
- Ensuring proper mixing of products according to label instructions and product specifications
- Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining proper inventory levels on the truck
- Keeping vehicle, trailer, and equipment clean
- Maintaining constant communication with the manager to ensure proper methods and products are utilized
- Using proper equipment to perform duties
- Completing all assigned tickets and jobs in a timely manner
- Delivering outstanding customer service to maintain customer retention levels
