The position offered is a full-time management role within the golf, fitness, and entertainment department located at Grande Lakes Shared Service in Orlando, Florida. The primary focus of this role is the day-to-day management of golf operations, specifically organizing group-related golf activities, ensuring seamless booking controls, and maintaining high standards of guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to budgetary guidelines. This position requires close communication and coordination with various property departments, sales managers, golf shop personnel, and external service providers.

The successful candidate will oversee critical aspects of golf event management, including organizing cart staging, pairings, tee favors, registration, and scoring during playdays. They will also manage tournament coordination, ensuring equitable equipment allocation, score tabulation, and prize distribution, thus enhancing the overall guest experience. Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation regarding group activities such as contact information, event types, food and beverage requirements, and financial transactions is pivotal for this role. Written correspondence, including contracts, confirmations, follow-ups, thank-you notes, and future business solicitations, will be part of the responsibilities, helping to foster lasting relationships with clients.

Additionally, this management role involves monitoring resort and golf standards to guarantee consistent, high-quality staff performance, contributing to a positive and professional environment. Understanding financial management components like budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports is essential to support the department's fiscal health. Job Duties

  • Oversees the proper handling of all group related activities on the day of play including cart staging, pairings, tee favors, bag tags, registration and check-in, announcements, rule sheets, scoring, prizes and awards
  • oversees tournament coordination including pairing of players, equipment rentals, tabulation of scores and prize selection and distribution
  • ensures proper booking of group events to maximize play on the golf course including tee times versus shotguns
  • maintains proper documentation and files relating to group activity
  • maintains proper tracking of group activity including contact name, date of play, type of event, food and beverage requirements, rates established, deposit amounts, cancellations
  • generates written correspondence such as confirmation, contract, follow-up, thank you, and solicitation for future business
  • monitors resort and golf standards to ensure consistent and high level staff performance
  • comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports as needed to assist financial management
  • tracks and records written and verbal communication related to group business
  • ensures payment and billing are properly handled with the Golf shop and accounting department
  • empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
