Job Description
IEH Laboratories is a renowned leader in the field of food safety, committed to providing accurate and timely microbiological and chemical analyses to ensure food products' safety and quality. Operating out of Salinas, CA, the company has established itself as a trusted partner for food manufacturers, processors, and distributors who rely on IEH’s comprehensive testing services to meet stringent regulatory standards and maintain consumer confidence. IEH Laboratories is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly qualified scientists dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in laboratory testing and food safety compliance.
The Laboratory Analyst position at IEH Laboratories is a critical role requiring a highly skilled individual to perform essential analyses to detect pathogens in food samples using PCR and immunoassay techniques. This role is designed as a full-time position on a rotational night shift basis, with initial training on the day shift to ensure proficiency before transitioning to afternoon and night shifts. Working at IEH Laboratories means operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, adherence to stringent aseptic techniques, and strong data management skills are paramount. The analyst will also be involved in performing microbe enumerations, laboratory reporting, quality control procedures, and media preparation.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.00, with an additional $2.00 night shift differential, reflecting the company’s dedication to fair compensation and recognition of the challenges associated with non-traditional work hours. IEH Laboratories provides an inclusive benefits package which encompasses medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, employee assistance programs, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching. The laboratory’s continuous 24/7 operational model requires employees to be flexible with schedules, including nights, weekends, and potential holidays.
IEH Laboratories encourages candidates with strong biological science backgrounds to apply, particularly those with experience in laboratory environments and a keen understanding of aseptic techniques. Due to the nature of the laboratory environment and potential exposure to food allergens, applicants with moderate-to-severe food allergies are advised to carefully consider their suitability for this role. The Laboratory Analyst role not only supports IEH Laboratories’ mission of advancing food safety but also offers a rewarding opportunity for career growth within a leading scientific laboratory setting.
