This opportunity is with a private family of four residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, who are seeking a dedicated and professional private chef to join their household team. The family enjoys a lifestyle that values healthy, thoughtfully prepared meals and requires a chef who is highly skilled in catering to both adults and children, with a focus on nutrition and diverse menu planning. Job Requirements
- Legal to work in the US
- Already local to the Bay Area not looking to relocate anyone
- Ability to travel with the family 4 to 6 weeks per year including cooking at rental homes
- Completion of a satisfactory background check
- Maintain a clean organized and professional demeanor in the kitchen
- Valid unrestricted California drivers license
- Up-to-date vaccinations including covid 19 with proof before hire date
- Experience cooking for a family and children
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate respectfully with all team members

- Ability to plan and prepare nutritious balanced meals
- Expertise in menu planning and dietary requirements
- Ability to lead and supervise additional kitchen staff
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills

- Ability to maintain a clean and professional kitchen environment
- Proven track record of reliability and discretion in a private household
Job Duties
- Prepare meals in the chefs kitchen located in a neighboring home and transport them to the primary residence for service
- Serve daily meals including plated lunch for two adults and mixed plated and family-style dinner for two adults and two children
- Prepare breakfast for the following day to be served by caregiving staff
- Plan menus thoughtfully including for family gatherings and special events, accommodating dietary requirements
- Monitor weekly mercury content in seafood to ensure safe family consumption
- Lead event catering or oversee additional chefs for larger gatherings with quality execution
- Maintain a clean organized and functional chefs kitchen and manage grocery inventory and pantry stock
- Source high-quality ingredients including humanely raised meats sustainable seafood and seasonal organic produce
- Use non-toxic cooking tools
- Source and train additional chefs to cover time off or assist with events
- Collaborate with operations team to address kitchen equipment issues promptly
- Travel with family as needed including cooking at rental homes within California
- Prepare treats for children’s school events as requested
- Pack to-go lunches for family members when needed
