The Model Bartender role at MGM Resorts offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this vibrant atmosphere. This position is hourly, starting at $9.50 per hour plus tips, with an estimated potential for tips reaching up to $13,800 annually. The Model Bartender is crucial in ensuring that the bar is a clean, organized, and inviting space where guests feel valued and entertained. Responsibilities extend beyond typical bartending duties to include inventory management, cash handling, mentoring junior staff, and participating in promotional events across the casino and resort venue.
Apart from crafting and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the Model Bartender will maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections to provide an exceptional service experience. Attention to detail is essential, as maintaining bar inventory, adhering to internal controls, and ensuring cleanliness and sanitation are integral parts of the job.
The role also involves training and mentoring apprentice bartenders and bar porters, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Model Bartender will be an active participant in the resort’s modeling, presentations, and promotional programs, helping to elevate the overall guest entertainment experience.
This position demands excellent problem-solving skills to address guest complaints within the scope of authority, escalating issues as required to management or security. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of relevant experience in food and beverage, cocktail service, nightclub, or entertainment venues and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma GED or equivalent
- one or more years of relevant experience in food and beverage cocktail service nightclub or entertainment venue
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- flexibility to work various shifts including nights weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Make and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes
- provide food service as needed
- maintain complete knowledge of menu items liquor brands beers and non-alcoholic selections available
- maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls and request product to maintain stock in bar
- ring beverages that are poured or served collect payment and follow all cash handling and variance procedures including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork
- provide apprentice bartender and bar porter with training and mentoring on overall function of the bar guest service and bartending
- clean equipment tools and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order including cleanliness sanitation and appearance of the bar
- participate in modeling presentations and promotions programs throughout the casino and resort if applicable
- resolve guest complaints within scope of authority otherwise refer the matter to management notify supervisor and or security of all unusual events circumstances missing items or alleged theft
