This particular role is part-time and offers a competitive wage ranging from $16.00 to $19.20 per hour, dependent on prior work history and experience. The position centers around maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service within the kitchen and dining areas of the community. As part of the dining services team, the employee will be responsible for ensuring a restaurant-style dining experience that satisfies the residents’ culinary expectations. Working closely with the Executive Chef and Executive Director, the role requires collaboration to meet food service quality and contribute to dining program success.

Key responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dishroom areas, adhering to food safety practices, managing dishwashing equipment and temperature logs, and supporting food preparation activities. The role also involves assisting with special events such as banquets and theme meals, as well as performing other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, capable of handling multiple tasks, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and accountability.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service or related field preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents

Job Duties

  • Maintain kitchen and dish room area in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times
  • Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned
  • Wash and store all dishes and equipment in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied
  • Maintain dish machine after each meal by thoroughly cleaning and maintaining temperature logs
  • Assist with the transportation and proper storage of food and supplies
  • Complete assigned food preparation as required
  • Adhere to standard food safety practices
  • Assist cooks and wait staff as requested
  • Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service
  • May perform other duties as assigned
