As a Kitchen Team Member at Western Camps, Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen and ensuring that guests receive excellent food and service. This role requires flexibility, as you may rotate through various stations in the kitchen during your shifts. Your responsibilities will span both back-of-house and front-of-house duties, ranging from preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness to delivering outstanding customer service and assisting with setup and presentation.

The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.90 to $17.50 and is available on a seasonal full-time or part-time basis. Key responsibilities include prepping ingredients for meals as directed by the kitchen prep list, maintaining sanitation and order in all kitchen areas including dishwashing stations, managing inventory and supplies, assisting with food and beverage service, and supporting the setup and cleanup of kitchen and dining areas. Additionally, you will help monitor food quality and presentation, accommodate special dietary restrictions, and work collaboratively with other staff to meet meal service deadlines.

Job Duties

  • Prepping ingredients or items needed for current or future meals according to the kitchen prep list
  • Maintaining a clean working station
  • Assisting with unloading, storage, and organization of walk-in fridges, dry storage, and outside storage room
  • Sweeping and mopping floors as required
  • Emptying trash cans regularly, replacing garbage bags, taking recyclable items out to proper areas
  • Going on trash runs as needed
  • Assisting in dish pit operations including washing dishes, putting dishes away, opening and closing dish pit area and completing check off lists
  • Assisting with fulfillment of ordered snack services, water service, or room service orders
  • Delivering the company experience for guests
  • Communicating with Shift Lead/Chef regarding customer concerns
  • Ensuring proper setup of tables and inspecting silverware, glassware, and other items prior to use
  • Checking food prior to serving to ensure presentation and taste meet company standards
  • Assisting other front of house staff to meet meal time deadlines and other services
  • Maintaining beverage station cleanliness and organization
  • Maintaining kitchen break room cleanliness and organization
  • Helping ensure buffet lines and coffee/beverage stations are set up on time and properly organized
  • Assisting in monitoring and refilling buffet lines during meal services
  • Understanding dietary restrictions to accommodate customer concerns
  • Assisting in opening and/or closing the kitchen
