Job Description

Legal Sea Foods is a prominent restaurant chain recognized for its commitment to offering a superior dining experience with an emphasis on fresh seafood and exceptional customer service. Established with a reputation for top-quality food and hospitality, Legal Sea Foods has become a trusted name in the restaurant industry, boasting numerous locations that attract a diverse clientele. The company prides itself on maintaining rigorous food safety standards and upholding a respectful, team-oriented workplace environment.

The Shift Supervisor position at Legal Sea Foods plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth front-of-house (HOH) operations during each shift. This role requires supervising, guiding, and assisting hourly staff members while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Shift Supervisors are crucial in maintaining high standards for food safety and sanitation protocols, promoting a welcoming and efficient dining experience for guests. The role is designed to provide leadership in the absence of senior HOH managers, overseeing day-to-day operations including staffing, job assignments, break rotations, and guest services.

Additionally, Shift Supervisors support hiring and training processes, ensuring new employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. They engage actively with team members to handle point of sale systems and kitchen display systems, maintain communication lines with senior management, and handle guest concerns with professionalism to uphold Legal Sea Foods’ reputation for exceptional hospitality. The role demands strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capacity to operate effectively under the high-pressure conditions typical of a busy restaurant environment.

Legal Sea Foods emphasizes leadership by example in this position, expecting the Shift Supervisor to embody the company’s standards for professionalism, hygiene, attitude, and punctuality. Knowledge of the menu, particularly allergy policies, is vital, as is the ability to train and support team members in various company protocols. The position requires certification in food and alcohol safety, crowd control, allergen awareness, discrimination and harassment prevention, and preferably ChokeSave training.

Legal Sea Foods maintains a commitment to legal compliance and participant eligibility in the federal E-Verify program to ensure all employees have the right to work in the United States. Physical demands include long periods of standing, fast-paced movement, and lifting up to 50 pounds, reflecting the dynamic nature of restaurant work. This role is essential for maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction, blending leadership, team coordination, and guest service into a comprehensive supervisory function.
