We are currently seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Hotel Indigo Denver Downtown. This position is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure safe, sanitary, and efficient food production that meets the highest quality standards. The Kitchen Supervisor will directly manage the kitchen staff, guiding the preparation, presentation, and overall production of food in the hotel’s restaurant and for room service. This role requires a strong leader who can balance maintaining excellent food quality with monitoring operational costs including labor and food expenses.

The ideal candidate will exhibit advanced knowledge of food service management and possess experience managing people and complex operational challenges in a kitchen environment. You will be responsible not only for scheduling and supervising the kitchen staff but also for ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and corporate health and safety regulations. You will play a key role in fostering a motivated workforce by training, coaching, and counseling employees while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.

The position requires flexibility, as team members must be available to work various shifts, including mornings and evenings, with open availability. We offer competitive hourly pay ranging from $23 to $25 per hour along with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of experience in a related kitchen or food service role
  • Open availability to work AM and/or PM shifts
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry food items and small equipment frequently
  • Full range of mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly
  • Capacity to stand continuously during preparation and service
  • Moderate hearing and speech capabilities for communication and safety
  • Excellent vision and comprehension for quality control and record keeping

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related experience in food service or kitchen management
  • Advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and lead staff effectively
  • Proficient in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Good analytical skills for budgeting and cost monitoring

Job Duties

  • Supervise the kitchen staff in daily food production and preparation ensuring safety and sanitation
  • Oversee food presentation for hotel restaurant and room service maintaining quality and consistency
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs effectively
  • Lead human resources functions for kitchen staff including training, development, and disciplinary actions
  • Schedule and ensure maintenance and sanitation of kitchen and equipment
  • Promote and enforce accident prevention programs and safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, corporate and franchise health and safety regulations
