The Kitchen Steward Supervisor (Union) role at Allegiant Stadium is a part-time position integral to ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations within the venue's culinary department. This supervisory role is responsible for overseeing daily stewarding activities, including dishwashing, sanitation, warewashing, and kitchen support services. The position plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness in one of the most dynamic and high-energy environments in the hospitality industry. The Kitchen Steward Supervisor will lead and train stewarding staff, ensuring adherence to food safety, sanitation, and OSHA standards. This role requires the ability to coordinate effectively with culinary teams and other departments, especially during event setups, executions, and breakdowns, to support seamless operations. Staffing, equipment maintenance, and operational planning are key components, demanding strong leadership skills, excellent attendance, and availability to work flexible hours in alignment with event schedules. Compensation for this role ranges between $26.00 and $30.00 per hour, guided by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and benefits are provided in accordance with union agreements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience supervising stewarding or kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Understanding of OSHA workplace safety standards
  • Ability to lead, train, and manage staff effectively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Availability to work variable hours including nights, weekends, and event days
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required in kitchen stewarding operations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience in stewarding or kitchen operations preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and motivate staff
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Experience with inventory management and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work flexible hours including event days

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise stewarding personnel including dishwashers, utility staff, and sanitation teams
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, food safety, sanitation, equipment operation, and workplace safety
  • Assist in controlling labor costs through scheduling, staffing, and productivity management
  • Conduct routine inspections of kitchens, sculleries, storage areas, loading docks, waste collection areas, and assigned facilities for cleanliness and compliance
  • Carry out monthly inventories of stewarding equipment, smallwares, cleaning chemicals, and supplies
  • Oversee daily dishwashing, pot washing, sanitation, and kitchen support operations to ensure timely service
  • Coordinate stewarding support for event setup, execution, and breakdown activities
  • Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance needs for equipment such as dish machines, chemical dispensing systems, waste handling equipment, compactors, pressure washers, and sinks
  • Maintain sanitation, health, safety, and food safety standards per company policies, SNHD regulations, OSHA requirements, and venue standards
  • Monitor proper use, storage, and inventory of cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies
  • Support sustainability initiatives including recycling, composting, grease management, food donation programs, and waste reduction
