At Fogo de Chao, employees are not just staff members; they are part of a family that values teamwork, integrity, excellence, humility, and a spirit of support known as Deixa Comigo, which means "we've got you." The company emphasizes professional and personal growth opportunities at every level, offering fulfilling careers that are built on these core values. With a focus on culture and community, Fogo de Chao makes sure that every team member feels appreciated and motivated to perform their best, fostering a purposeful future for all.
The role of Kitchen Prep at Fogo de Chao is essential to maintaining the high standards associated with the brand. This position is responsible for supporting the kitchen operations by preparing and presenting salad bar items, side dishes, and desserts according to detailed recipes with efficiency and care. The Kitchen Prep team member ensures that inventory and fresh produce meet the highest quality standards, managing stock levels properly and assisting management with tracking expiration dates to maintain food safety and quality.
Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas is a critical responsibility that supports overall operational excellence and meets health and safety regulations. The role involves completing opening and closing duties as directed by management, contributing to smooth kitchen operations throughout shifts. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods while working at a fast pace, which is typical in a dynamic and busy kitchen environment.
Fogo de Chao offers competitive pay for the Kitchen Prep role, starting at $16.37 per hour and reaching up to $21.37 depending on relevant work experience. The company provides comprehensive benefits for full-time hourly team members, including medical, dental, and vision insurance starting the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Additional company-paid benefits include life insurance and short-term disability where applicable. A voluntary benefits package is also available, offering critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident coverage, permanent life, and pet insurance.
Part-time team members are not left out and receive a Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) health plan along with dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance. They can also access a range of voluntary benefits such as pet insurance, legal assistance, and ID protection. Fogo de Chao is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and E Verify Employer, promoting inclusion and fair hiring practices.
Joining the Fogo de Chao team as a Kitchen Prep member means becoming part of a company that values respect, quality, and providing a positive work environment. You will be contributing directly to delivering the culinary excellence and service that the brand is known for, while enjoying robust benefits and career growth opportunities. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy teamwork, and take pride in maintaining high standards of food preparation and kitchen operations.
