Job Description
Fogo de Chao is a renowned Brazilian steakhouse chain that brings an authentic dining experience centered on the Culinary Art of Churrasco, a traditional Brazilian style of grilling meats on open flames. Founded with the vision of transforming dining into a joyful and fiery celebration, Fogo de Chao combines exquisite food with heartfelt hospitality, aiming to ignite fire and joy in serving guests while also caring deeply for their team members and communities. With locations across the United States and internationally, Fogo de Chao has established a respected reputation in the restaurant industry for their superior quality, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service standards. Their mission goes beyond serving delicious meals; the company embraces values such as teamwork, integrity, excellence, humility, and a supportive culture summed up in the phrase “Deixa Comigo,” meaning “we’ve got you.”
At Fogo de Chao, the commitment to a purposeful future is not only reflected in the guest experience but also in how the company invests in its people. Employees are viewed as essential members of a larger family where everyone is given the opportunity for growth both personally and professionally. For those seeking a career in the culinary or hospitality field, Fogo de Chao offers fulfilling job opportunities with clear avenues for advancement. The company fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment, emphasizing that the table is a place for all.
The Kitchen Prep position at Fogo de Chao plays a vital role in maintaining the high culinary standards and seamless service that the brand is known for. As a Kitchen Prep team member, you are entrusted with supporting the back-of-house operations by preparing and properly presenting all salad bar items, side dishes, and desserts efficiently and according to the set recipes. This role ensures that all food items meet the quality expectations and are presented appealingly to guests. Additionally, the Kitchen Prep is responsible for managing inventory levels properly, including the storage of fresh produce and other supplies, helping to track expiration dates closely to guarantee freshness and safety.
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas and equipment is another critical responsibility of this role, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. The team member also participates in opening or closing duties as directed by management, which may involve preparing the kitchen for the day or ensuring everything is in order at the close of a shift. The ability to work at a fast pace while standing for long durations and handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds is essential for this strenuous yet rewarding position.
Fogo de Chao values its kitchen team members and supports them with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time hourly employees eligible after 60 days, as well as company-paid life insurance and short-term disability where applicable. Part-time employees also have access to a minimum essential coverage health plan and various voluntary benefits. This job opportunity is ideal for individuals who are motivated, dedicated, and passionate about culinary arts and delivering top-tier food quality and service. Immediate hiring is available, reflecting Fogo de Chao’s commitment to welcoming and integrating new team members swiftly into their family.
