The Porter position at Starbucks Reserve Kitchen plays an essential support role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen and facility areas. Job Requirements
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs on a consistent basis
- Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy
- Attention to detail
- Basic math and English skills
Job Qualifications
- 1+ years working in a professional kitchen, commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Current Health Code Certification as per State and Local DOH requirements preferred
- Understanding of kitchen sanitation standards and handling of cleaning chemicals
Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes wares, equipment and facility
- Organizing the dish room(s) and ensuring proper storage of all supplies
- Collecting, washing and sanitizing dishes while returning pots, pans, cutlery and other small wares back into use as quickly as possible while adhering to sanitation guidelines
- Washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
- Removing and recycling, waste and compost from the kitchen and keeping their receptacles clean
- Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
