Established in 1987, Frontiers North has built an exceptional reputation as a Certified B Corporation, emphasizing sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. The company offers guests unforgettable experiences that include dining beneath the northern lights, encountering beluga whales, and observing wild polar bears in their natural habitat. Situated in Churchill, Manitoba, the company not only provides diverse tour and adventure services but also manages restaurants, accommodations, and a retail outlet, all designed to showcase the unique culture and natural beauty of Canada’s North. Frontiers North's corporate headquarters is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The company is currently seeking dynamic and adventurous individuals to join their team as Kitchen Managers, Line Cooks, and Prep Cooks for term positions at two of their dining establishments: the Ptarmigan and the Tundra Pub. These roles are critical to maintaining the high standards of food quality and service for which Frontiers North is known. The kitchen team works collaboratively to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of kitchen activities, from preparation to plating and service. Line Cooks are responsible for cooking, assembling, and presenting dishes that meet consistency, timing, and presentation standards. Prep Cooks focus on preparing ingredients, portioning, and organizing to support kitchen operations. All roles emphasize food safety, cleanliness, inventory management, and adherence to corporate values focused on sustainability and social responsibility.
The ideal candidates will possess relevant culinary experience and certifications, be adept at working in a fast-paced and remote kitchen environment, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. Staff members must be adaptable and resourceful, ready to meet the challenges presented by a remote northern location while upholding excellence in food handling and customer service. The roles require standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting heavy items safely. In return, employees enjoy numerous perks such as generous tip pools, company discounts, access to unique Frontiers North Adventures tours and activities, company events, free gym access, and paid travel to Churchill, Manitoba (conditions apply). Shared staff housing or Northern living premiums are available to support those relocating. This opportunity offers a meaningful career experience for culinary professionals passionate about Canada’s North and sustainable tourism.
