Job Description
INDAY is a vibrant and rapidly growing restaurant brand operating throughout New York City, specializing in modern Indian cuisine that is deeply rooted in warmth, care, and exceptional hospitality. The establishment has carved a unique niche for itself by emphasizing 'good karma hospitality,' a philosophy centered on taking care of guests, team members, and the culinary craft every single day. INDAY is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive workplace culture where its employees can thrive and grow alongside the brand. The company places a strong emphasis on promoting from within and nurturing leadership by providing ongoing paid training and clear expectations, ensuring every team member feels confident and supported in their role. The brand’s dedication to employee well-being is reflected in its comprehensive benefits package, including competitive wages ranging from $20 to $24 per hour, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, commuter benefits, free meals during shifts, and career growth opportunities. INDAY also supports its employees beyond the workplace by offering English classes and other benefits designed to help balance their professional and personal lives.
The role of Kitchen Manager at INDAY is a critical leadership position that acts as the second in command for back-of-house operations. This full-time role is focused on ensuring food quality, consistency, and the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. Unlike some management positions, the Kitchen Manager at INDAY concentrates primarily on execution and training, without responsibilities such as scheduling or hiring. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced kitchen professional who is enthusiastic about crafting high-quality Indian dishes and is eager to be part of a growing brand defined by care and excellence. The Kitchen Manager leads and inspires the kitchen team, providing hands-on training, coaching, and support to develop future leaders and uphold INDAY's culinary standards. Responsibilities include conducting line checks, overseeing prep and portioning standards, and maintaining compliance with health and food safety regulations. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager fosters a calm and respectful kitchen atmosphere aligned with the company values, ensuring that service flows smoothly even during busy periods, and that every dish served meets the brand’s high standards of taste and presentation. This role not only demands culinary expertise but also strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage daily kitchen operations efficiently and support the overall mission of INDAY.
