We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager / Senior Cuisine Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Sussex caf   caf   and catering services. This leadership role is vital in ensuring the delivery of exceptional food, customer service, and hospitality, while maintaining the highest standards in food safety and sanitation. The Kitchen Manager / Senior Cuisine Supervisor will play a key role in driving innovation by introducing new menu ideas and improving operational processes that enhance the employee dining experience.

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the caf   operations including budgeting, labor management, food cost control, inventory management, purchasing, and overall operational performance. Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing a high-performing culinary team will be a critical part of the role, along with fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment that supports team members and encourages professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • seven or more years of food service experience
  • at least three years in a leadership role
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to safely operate and work around commercial kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent (culinary degree or management certification preferred)
  • seven or more years of food service experience, including at least three years in a leadership role
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • demonstrated leadership with strong communication, coaching, financial management, and organizational skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • a passion for hospitality, continuous improvement, and creating memorable dining experiences

Job Duties

  • lead the daily operations of the Quad Caf   and catering services
  • deliver exceptional food quality, customer service, and hospitality while maintaining the highest food safety and sanitation standards
  • drive innovation by introducing new menu ideas, improving processes, and continuously enhancing the employee dining experience
  • manage budgets, labor, food costs, inventory, purchasing, and overall operational performance
  • recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment
  • build strong relationships with employees and business partners to ensure the caf   remains a welcoming destination for our workforce
