The role of the Kitchen Manager at Texas Roadhouse is a pivotal position responsible for managing all Back of House (BOH) operations. This person oversees the purchasing, receiving, preparation, and presentation of all food products in a timely manner while ensuring adherence to established recipes and food safety procedures. The Kitchen Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining food quality standards through routine line taste and temperature checks and by supervising the proper handling and storage of all kitchen items. Additionally, this role demands a proactive approach to managing food costs, minimizing waste, and controlling kitchen labor costs, which are essential to the restaurant’s operational success.
The Kitchen Manager also leads and develops the BOH team by conducting performance evaluations, coaching employees, enforcing employment policies, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the restaurant. - Previous kitchen management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
- Enforcing compliance with all employment policies and overseeing cleanliness and safety of the restaurant
- Directing productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times
- Managing performance of Back of House employees, including evaluations, coaching, and discipline
- Providing daily feedback and development for key employees and hourly staff
- Conducting formal line taste and temperature checks as part of food safety and inventory management
- Overseeing proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all kitchen items
- Managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling kitchen labor costs
- Setting hours and weekly schedules, assigning tasks to Back of House employees
- Training Back of House employees on equipment maintenance and cleaning
- Reviewing applications, interviewing, and recommending hires for BOH staff
- Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment consistent with company values
