Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished lifestyle brand that combines the essence of Napa Valley with exceptional culinary experiences. Established in 2005, Cooper's Hawk offers a unique blend of a Napa-style tasting room, wine-inspired retail, and a full-service restaurant with bar and private event space. The brand is renowned for its scratch-kitchen approach where every menu item is thoughtfully crafted to perfectly pair with their award-winning wines. With one of the world's largest wine clubs, Cooper's Hawk provides exclusive benefits to Wine Club members, including curated dining and travel experiences. Expanding its culinary horizon, the brand also features Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, a concept bringing the vibrant flavors of Rome to the guests, creating an unparalleled modern-yet-casual dining environment.
The Kitchen Manager role is a pivotal position within Cooper's Hawk, designed for an experienced culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen setting. This role demands a hands-on approach in managing up to two kitchen departments, such as dish, prep, and line, ensuring that the culinary standards and safety protocols are strictly upheld. The Kitchen Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager to deliver top-tier hospitality and optimize food quality, making each guest's dining experience unforgettable. This position requires a leader who not only maintains operational excellence but also fosters a positive, inclusive kitchen culture that inspires team members to excel.
The salary range for the Kitchen Manager is $55,000 to $65,000 per year, complemented by a 10 percent bonus potential, with the final offer reflecting the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and internal pay equity. The role is full-time, requiring flexibility to work 50-60 hours weekly, including weekends and holidays as necessary. Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen staff hiring, training, development, and enforcing food safety and sanitation standards. The role emphasizes strong communication, robust financial acumen, and proficiency in management tools such as POS systems, scheduling, ordering, inventory software, and Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate will contribute actively to kitchen initiatives, new menu rollouts, and special private events like monthly Wine Club dinners while leading departmental meetings and maintaining strong team synergy between kitchen and front-of-house personnel.
The Kitchen Manager is expected to embody Cooper's Hawk values, creating memorable moments beyond standard expectations by empowering their team and celebrating milestones and successes. Benefits reflect Cooper's Hawk's commitment to its team members and include extensive health coverage, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid time off, and various discounts. This opportunity represents a chance to be part of a leading culinary brand synonymous with exceptional food, wine, and guest experiences, making it an ideal role for culinary professionals eager to grow their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment.
