The role available is for a Kitchen Manager, a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all Back of House operations at Texas Roadhouse. This role requires an individual who is not only passionate about food and quality preparation but also skilled in managing a team and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The Kitchen Manager will be the backbone of the restaurant's kitchen, handling everything from purchasing and receiving food products to ensuring these items are prepared and presented according to the brand’s strict recipes and procedures. The position demands a high level of organization and leadership, as the manager will supervise various aspects including food safety, employee performance, inventory management, and kitchen cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen management or food service supervision
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • familiarity with point-of-sale and inventory software is a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
  • enforcing compliance with employment policies and overseeing cleanliness of restaurant and safety of guests
  • directing productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times
  • managing performance of Back of House employees including conducting performance evaluations coaching and discipline
  • assisting with development of all key employees assistant managers and hourly employees by providing daily feedback on performance during one-on-ones
  • conducting formal line taste and temperature checks as part of overall responsibility for inventory and safety in the kitchen
  • overseeing the proper handling maintenance and storage of all items
  • understanding managing and practicing safe food handling procedures
  • managing food costs tracking waste and controlling kitchen labor costs
  • directing work for Back of House employees including setting hours and weekly schedules and assigning tasks before during and after open hours of the restaurant
  • training Back of House employees on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures
  • reviewing applications interviewing and hiring or making recommendation to hire Back of House employees
  • creating a safe fun and clean work environment for the staff consistent with core values and operational goals
