Job Description

Cooper's Hawk is a distinctive lifestyle brand that integrates a Napa-style tasting room with wine-inspired retail, a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event spaces. This establishment offers a modern yet casual dining experience driven by a passion for exceptional wine paired impeccably with culinary excellence. The scratch-kitchen menu is creatively crafted to complement their award-winning wines, creating a harmonious blend of taste and wine culture. Since its inception in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has been committed to delivering the Napa Valley experience to its guests and an extensive Wine Club membership, which is one of the largest in the world. This membership offers exclusive benefits such as curated dining events and unique travel experiences, enriching the lifestyle of wine lovers. The company has also expanded its culinary footprint with Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, which brings the vibrant, authentic flavors of Rome to its patrons, broadening its appeal and reinforcing its commitment to quality and innovation in dining.

As a Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading the kitchen operations within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your responsibility will be to ensure the culinary execution of their uniquely inspired menu that pairs beautifully with their wines. Working closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager, you will uphold uncompromising hospitality standards while coaching and inspiring team members to deliver high-quality dishes and memorable guest experiences. The role demands strong leadership in overseeing kitchen departments such as dish, prep, and line, maintaining professional standards, and utilizing various tools like POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory systems to stay organized.

You will drive financial and operational results by maintaining prep and line knowledge, managing labor and inventory efficiently, and executing new menu rollouts and private events, including the renowned monthly Wine Club dinners. Interdepartmental collaboration with front-of-house teams is vital to keeping service seamless and fostering a respectful and inclusive kitchen culture. The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for training and developing the kitchen team, ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance, and celebrating team achievements to inspire excellence and pride.

This position offers a robust benefits package, including significant discounts on dining, carryout, retail wine, and private events, along with medical, dental, and vision insurance, wellness discounts, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Additional benefits include paid parental leave, paid time off, long- and short-term disability options, life insurance, mental health support, and access to a team member relief program. Career development opportunities and employee rewards like milestone recognition and referral bonuses further underline the company's commitment to its team members.

The ideal candidate for this role will have supervisory experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably with scratch-kitchen expertise. Strong communication skills, financial acumen, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and certifications such as ServSafe are highly preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays. Cooper's Hawk values diversity and inclusion and is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process. This role is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about wine and exceptional dining experiences to advance their careers within a forward-thinking and dynamic hospitality environment.
