Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinctive hospitality company known for its Napa-style tasting rooms and wine-inspired retail offerings, coupled with full-service restaurants, bars, and private event spaces. The establishment provides a modern yet casual dining experience, emphasizing a scratch-kitchen approach where every menu item is thoughtfully crafted to pair perfectly with Cooper's Hawk's award-winning wines. Since its inception in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has successfully brought the premium Napa Valley experience to a broad audience, fostering a unique lifestyle brand that extends beyond food and wine to exclusive club memberships, curated dining, and travel experiences. With the addition of Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, the company is expanding its culinary influence by introducing the vibrant flavors of Rome, further enhancing its diverse and enticing brand identity.
The role of Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk is pivotal in maintaining the high standards and exceptional guest experiences that define the brand. This leadership position involves managing fast-paced, high-volume kitchen operations with a commitment to scratch cooking and culinary excellence. Kitchen Managers work closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager to ensure seamless execution of the menu and to inspire and coach team members to uphold superior food quality and hospitality standards. This position offers a competitive compensation range from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, plus a 10% bonus potential. The final salary will depend on factors such as experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
As a Kitchen Manager, you will oversee one to two kitchen departments, including dish, prep, and line teams, ensuring that operations run smoothly while maintaining safety and culinary standards. You'll be responsible for hiring, training, and developing hourly team members, fostering a respectful and inclusive kitchen culture that aligns with Cooper's Hawk’s values. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills through the use of POS, inventory, scheduling, and office software, and the ability to manage financial and operational results. Additionally, you will assist with menu rollouts, private events such as Wine Club dinners, and inventory and labor management. Success in this role depends on your ability to show up ready, take ownership of your kitchen environment, communicate effectively, and create memorable dining experiences for guests. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team where you can influence a vibrant culinary culture and grow professionally with a company dedicated to career development and employee wellbeing.
