Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Chipotle stands out as a leader and innovator within the food industry by redefining the fast-food experience through its commitment to fresh ingredients, sustainable farming practices, and a mission to make better food accessible to everyone. The company operates restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, maintaining ownership and operational control of all its establishments in North America and Europe. With a passionate team focused on exceptional guest experiences, Chipotle continuously leads the way in digital innovation, technology integration, and sustainable business practices in the food service sector. Chipotle is deeply committed to fair employment practices and fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive and reach their full potential. The company values diversity, equity, and respect, ensuring a supportive environment for everyone regardless of background or personal characteristics.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle plays a critical part in upholding the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy by ensuring the quality and safety of every meal prepared. As a Kitchen Leader, you will gain hands-on experience in preparing and cooking excellent food, grilling meats, and sautéing vegetables, with a strong focus on maintaining delicious food standards. This position requires not only skill in food preparation but also leadership qualities to manage inventory, oversee kitchen cleanliness, and maintain equipment functionality. You will be responsible for ordering food supplies, managing waste, and resolving any food quality issues to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader serves as a role model and mentor to crew members, fostering teamwork and creating a positive, collaborative work environment. Training and developing crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders is a crucial aspect of this position, emphasizing Chipotle’s commitment to employee growth and advancement. The role involves constant communication with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service throughout a busy shift. Safety and sanitation standards are paramount, and the Kitchen Leader oversees these areas meticulously to prevent injuries and maintain compliance with company policies.

This is a full-time position with competitive compensation ranging from $17.15 to $19.06 per hour, complemented by an attractive benefits package including tuition assistance, free meals, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holiday closures, and digital tips. Chipotle offers substantial opportunities for career growth, with 80% of managers having started their careers as crew members. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a company that is not just about serving food but about making a difference in how food is sourced, prepared, and shared with communities. Working at Chipotle provides an enriching experience where you contribute to a larger mission while growing your skills and career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
