Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is committed to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients. Unlike typical fast-food chains, Chipotle takes pride in its unique approach to food service, focusing on fresh ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With locations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is distinctive as the only company in its category that owns and operates all its restaurants in North America and Europe. This establishes the brand not only as a leader in the fast-casual dining industry but also as an innovator in sustainable practices, digital advancements, and technology-driven solutions. The company values a people-first culture and is dedicated to supporting fair employment practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Chipotle fosters a workplace where employees are respected and encouraged to reach their full potential, creating an environment that goes beyond just preparing and serving food but shaping a better future for farming and food production.
As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will play an essential role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the food served every day. This role goes beyond basic food preparation, offering you the opportunity to learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables with a focus on both taste and presentation. The Kitchen Leader ensures that the kitchen operates smoothly — from keeping it clean, organized, and well-stocked to ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and functioning. You will act as a role model and mentor for crew members, guiding and training them to become future Kitchen Leaders. Your leadership helps cultivate a strong, collaborative team environment that drives a great customer experience.
The position demands a proactive and dynamic individual who is constantly on their feet, accomplishing station goals, taking initiative to tackle tasks as they arise, and supporting teammates across kitchen and front-of-house operations. The role demands strong communication skills, both with crew and customers, to maintain excellent service and throughput in a fast-paced environment. The Kitchen Leader also works diligently to ensure safety standards are adhered to, including monitoring potential hazards and filling out necessary documentation, such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO) logs.
Chipotle values employees deeply, offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Employees benefit from tuition assistance covering up to 100% for select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, and opportunities for advancement, with 80% of managers having started their journey as crew members. Joining Chipotle means being part of a forward-thinking company that empowers you to grow professionally while contributing to a mission of making better food accessible to everyone.
