Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain known for its mission to cultivate a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on the principles of Food With Integrity, Chipotle has revolutionized the fast food industry by emphasizing high quality, ethically sourced ingredients while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and community involvement. With restaurants located across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size to own and operate all its locations in North America and Europe. The company prides itself on its strong company culture, dedication to digital innovation, and sustainable business practices, making it an industry leader and a preferred employer for individuals passionate about great food and excellent customer service.

The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is a dynamic, hands-on position ideal for individuals eager to sharpen their culinary skills and lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Kitchen Leader learns essential food preparation techniques including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring that every item served is delicious and prepared to Chipotle’s high standards. Beyond food preparation, this role involves managing kitchen operations such as ordering supplies, monitoring food inventory and waste, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment safety. Kitchen Leaders are also mentors, responsible for training and developing crew members to become future leaders themselves. They foster a strong team dynamic between front and back of house staff and ensure smooth communication to create the best possible customer experience.

This position requires a proactive approach with consistent focus on food quality, safety standards, and operational efficiency. Kitchen Leaders spend much of their time on their feet, multitasking to meet the demands of the restaurant environment while supporting their teammates. The role offers valuable experience for those interested in career advancement within the company, as approximately 80% of Chipotle managers started their journeys as crew members or Kitchen Leaders. The pay range for this role is competitive, ranging from $17.15 to $19.06 per hour, and is supplemented by digital tips. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package and supports educational growth through tuition assistance programs.

Chipotle's commitment to equal opportunity employment means that they welcome individuals from all backgrounds and identities, fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. They also ensure accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process, reflecting their dedication to diversity and support for all team members. Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a values-driven, people-first company focused on cultivating better food experiences for both employees and guests while contributing to a sustainable future.
