We are currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Leader to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety within our restaurants. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn the art of preparing delicious menu items, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring every meal served is up to Chipotle’s exacting standards. You are also responsible for ordering necessary food supplies and training crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, thus fostering a strong, competent kitchen team.
The Kitchen Leader plays a central role in ensuring the kitchen remains clean, well-organized, and fully stocked while also overseeing the proper maintenance of equipment to prevent downtime and preserve operational efficiency. This role requires someone who leads by example, promotes teamwork between kitchen and front-of-house crews, and proactively addresses tasks necessary for a smooth kitchen operation. Responsibilities also include waste reduction, inventory management, and supporting a great customer experience by contributing to a safe, efficient, and enjoyable work environment. The position is fast-paced and requires standing for extended periods and multitasking on your feet, all aimed at delivering excellent food and service. Job Duties
- ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
- monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
- supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
- developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
- communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
- ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
- filling out material safety data sheets and inventory rotation
