The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about food quality, team leadership, and customer service. In this role, the Kitchen Leader is entrusted with preparing delicious food by grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and following strict kitchen protocols to ensure safety and quality. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader plays a key part in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen with well-functioning equipment. This position involves ordering food supplies and training team members to develop into future Kitchen Leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork. The Kitchen Leader works closely with both back of house and front of house crew members to promote a positive team dynamic that ensures a seamless customer experience. The role requires being proactive, multitasking, and taking initiative to complete tasks and help teammates. With a focus on adhering to health and safety guidelines, the Kitchen Leader also handles material safety data sheets and inventory rotation to minimize food waste. Compensation for this role ranges from $16.65 to $18.53 per hour, plus eligibility for digital tips, alongside a comprehensive benefits package. Job Requirements

  • Have restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • Developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • Making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
