The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle offers an exciting opportunity to become proficient in preparing great food, mastering techniques like grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. The Kitchen Leader is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, properly stocking and using kitchen equipment, and promptly addressing any equipment malfunctions. Additionally, you will help develop Crew members into future leaders, making this role critical for both operational success and employee growth.
In this dynamic role, you will be actively engaged in day-to-day tasks while supporting both back of house and front of house operations to ensure a smooth customer experience. You will oversee inventory management, reduce food waste, uphold safety standards to prevent injuries, and ensure that regulatory requirements are met through proper documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and inventory rotation protocols (FIFO). The Kitchen Leader position is physically demanding, requiring stamina and keen attention to detail, as you will be on your feet, taking initiative, and collaborating with teammates throughout your shift. Job Duties
- ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
- monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
- supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
- developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
- communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
- ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
- filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
