Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a pioneering restaurant company known for cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically prepared real food made with wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Operating restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is unique among its peers as it owns and operates all of its locations in North America and Europe. The company has earned a reputation as a leader and innovator in the food industry due to its commitment to sustainable business practices, cutting-edge digital and technology advances, and its Food With Integrity philosophy that guides every aspect of its operations. At its core, Chipotle strives to make delicious, high-quality food accessible to everyone while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and employee growth. With a passionate team dedicated to providing great guest experiences, Chipotle combines fast service with a fresh take on fast food, redefining the casual dining experience in a positive and socially responsible way.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a pivotal position within the restaurant’s operational team, offering a fantastic opportunity to build your culinary and leadership skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare a wide variety of menu items with excellence, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring every dish meets Chipotle’s exacting quality and safety standards. This role emphasizes hands-on food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintenance, while encouraging teamwork and a supportive atmosphere among crew members. Your responsibilities include ordering food supplies, training crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, and serving as a role model to inspire a culture of continuous learning and high performance. You will be engaged throughout your shift, managing your kitchen station, addressing tasks that arise, and collaborating closely with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams to maintain a clean, well-stocked, and safe kitchen environment.

The position requires a detail-oriented approach to monitoring food waste and inventory levels to optimize operational efficiency. You will take an active role in communicating effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure superior service and throughput. The role involves a significant focus on safety compliance, including filling out Material Safety Data Sheets and supervising Food Safety protocols such as inventory rotation using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) methods. Additionally, you will be tasked with ensuring the proper upkeep and repair of kitchen equipment, reducing downtime and hazards. Working as a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is not only about operational excellence but also about fostering a positive team dynamic that supports growth opportunities and career advancement. Many of Chipotle’s managers began their journeys as crew members, making this role a meaningful step toward future leadership positions within the company.

Chipotle offers a comprehensive benefits package to support its employees’ well-being and development. Benefits include tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free food during shifts, and medical, dental, and vision insurance. Employees also enjoy digital tips, paid time off, holiday closures, competitive compensation, and abundant opportunities for advancement. Chipotle embraces diversity and inclusion as a core value, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds to apply. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities.

Joining Chipotle as a Kitchen Leader means becoming part of a values-driven, people-first company dedicated to crafting a better future through food. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food, customer service, and team leadership looking to grow professionally in an environment that values integrity, innovation, and community impact.
