The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is an essential leadership position focused on ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality and safety standards. This role involves hands-on food preparation, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables to Chipotle's exacting standards. The Kitchen Leader also manages inventory levels and food waste, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, monitoring equipment status, and ensuring proper repairs are made when necessary. Acting as a role model for the team, the Kitchen Leader supports the growth and development of crew members by training and mentoring them to become future leaders within the kitchen. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Restaurant experience
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Duties

  • Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitor food waste and inventory levels and resolve food quality issues
  • Support a strong team dynamic between back of house and front of house crew
  • Develop crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and customers to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and repair
  • Ensure kitchen and crew members meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
