Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain that is committed to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made from wholesome ingredients without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on the principle that food served fast does not have to be a typical fast-food experience, Chipotle has revolutionized the industry by emphasizing quality, sustainability, and transparency in all aspects of its business. With locations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle prides itself on owning and operating all its restaurants in North America and Europe, which allows the company to maintain high standards of quality and customer service consistently. Chipotle stands out as an innovator in the food industry, blending its passion for providing an exceptional guest experience with leadership in digital and sustainable business practices. This role plays a critical part in continuing the company’s mission to make better food accessible to everyone while sustaining a culture of responsibility and inclusivity.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals who want to be part of a team dedicated to delivering delicious, high-quality food in an efficient, clean, and safe environment. Kitchen Leaders are responsible for preparing food to order, ensuring that all meals meet Chipotle's rigorous food quality and safety standards. They play an essential role in managing kitchen operations by keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and well-stocked, as well as maintaining equipment to ensure it functions correctly. This position involves hands-on cooking – grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and prepping ingredients – which ensures every dish served is fresh and flavorful. Beyond food preparation, Kitchen Leaders are tasked with training and developing crew members, guiding them to become future leaders themselves, fostering a strong team-oriented atmosphere between kitchen and front-of-house staff.

As a Kitchen Leader, you are more than just a member of the team; you are a role model who drives high performance and cultivates a culture of excellence. Your day-to-day duties involve closely monitoring inventory levels and food waste, resolving any food quality issues promptly, and communicating effectively with your team and customers. You will also take responsibility for compliance with safety standards, filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and managing inventory rotation to reduce waste and ensure freshness. The position requires someone who is always proactive – seeing tasks that need attention and stepping in to support teammates wherever necessary, creating a seamless and enjoyable customer experience.

This role is perfect for those who are passionate about food, eager to learn and grow, and committed to Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy that emphasizes responsibility and quality. Chipotle offers a competitive compensation package, along with extensive benefits including tuition assistance, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement. Many managers at Chipotle started as crew members, illustrating the company’s commitment to promoting from within and fostering career growth. If you are looking to develop your culinary and leadership skills in an inspiring environment that values teamwork, diversity, and sustainability, then the Kitchen Leader position at Chipotle is an excellent fit.
