Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as an innovator in the food industry, Chipotle operates in multiple countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. What sets Chipotle apart is its ownership and operation of all its restaurants directly, ensuring consistent quality, service, and adherence to its core values. Chipotle is deeply committed to cultivating a better world by supporting sustainable farming, engaging in conversations about food systems, and making healthier food options accessible to all. The company has built a culture around diversity, equity, and inclusion and is a people-first organization that prioritizes hiring world-class individuals who align with their mission. By embracing digital transformation, sustainability, and advanced technology, Chipotle is continuously evolving as a brand that remains ahead of trends in the restaurant industry.
The Kitchen Leader at Chipotle plays a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that the brand is known for. This role involves mastering the preparation of delicious menu items by learning how to grill meats, sauté vegetables, and follow strict kitchen procedures to ensure every dish served meets Chipotle's standards. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader is responsible for ensuring the kitchen is organized, clean, and well-stocked while maintaining all equipment in proper working condition. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring inventory, minimizing food waste, and resolving any food quality issues. Central to the role is the responsibility of training and developing crew members to step into future leadership roles, fostering a culture of teamwork and effective communication between the back of house and front of house teams. Kitchen Leaders act as role models while actively participating on the floor, pitching in wherever needed, and promoting a safety-conscious work environment that prevents accidents and injuries.
This position offers competitive pay ($21.25 to $23.65 per hour) plus digital tips, along with a comprehensive benefits package including tuition assistance, free food, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and holiday closures. The Kitchen Leader is an excellent opportunity for individuals with restaurant experience who are eager to grow within a company that places a strong emphasis on career development and advancement, where 80% of managers started as crew members. Chipotle's inclusive work culture values diversity and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities. The company invites motivated candidates to join their mission to cultivate a better world through great food and dedicated service.
