As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delicious quality and safety of all food served while helping to shape the future of the Kitchen team. The position involves preparing high-quality meals by grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and following strict kitchen procedures to deliver outstanding food every day. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen environment, as well as overseeing the proper maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment.

This role also involves supporting and promoting a strong team dynamic among back-of-house and front-of-house crew members. As a leader on your team, you will train and develop crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, ensuring everyone is equipped to uphold Chipotle’s standards of quality, safety, and customer service. Throughout your shift, you will stay active, accomplishing your station’s goals, and assisting teammates wherever needed to create a seamless and positive experience for both the crew and customers.

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • Developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • Making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
