The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle Mexican Grill offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing culinary and leadership skills within a dynamic fast-casual restaurant environment. The Kitchen Leader is responsible for preparing delicious food, grilling meats, and sautéing vegetables while ensuring strict adherence to food safety and quality standards. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness, organization, and proper equipment maintenance. As a key team member, the Kitchen Leader also serves as a mentor and role model to Crew members, helping them acquire the knowledge and confidence to become future Kitchen Leaders. The job involves fostering a strong team dynamic between back-of-house and front-of-house Crew, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a superior customer experience. Kitchen Leaders are actively engaged during their shifts, accomplishing station goals, identifying tasks that need attention, and supporting their teammates. They follow Chipotle's policies and procedures diligently, including handling inventory, monitoring food waste, completing safety documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents. Job Requirements

  • Have restaurant experience
  • Have the ability to understand and articulate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Have the knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • Developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
