Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain renowned for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Established as a pioneer in transforming the fast-food industry, Chipotle stands out by cultivating a better world through sustainable farming practices and transparent sourcing. With locations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle remains unique among its peers by owning and operating all of its restaurants across North America and Europe. This approach has not only enabled Chipotle to maintain exceptional control over food quality and customer experience but also to innovate consistently in digital, technological, and sustainable business practices.

At Chipotle, inclusivity and diversity are central to the company culture. As an equal opportunity employer, Chipotle emphasizes the importance of hiring world-class individuals while fostering a workplace environment that champions diversity, ensures equity, and celebrates inclusion. The company also makes reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities to ensure equal participation in the hiring process.

The role of Kitchen Leader is an exceptional opportunity to grow within Chipotle’s fast-paced and customer-focused environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will develop critical skills in food preparation, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and overall kitchen management. You are entrusted with ensuring that every dish served is delicious and meets Chipotle’s high standards of quality. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader is responsible for ordering food supplies, managing inventory, and coaching crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders themselves. This position is not just about cooking—it’s about leadership, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-organized kitchen that upholds stringent safety and sanitation standards.

Kitchen Leaders at Chipotle embody the company's Food With Integrity philosophy by meticulously monitoring food waste, maintaining kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines. They serve as role models for back-of-house and front-of-house team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that enhances both the employee and customer experience. Throughout their shifts, Kitchen Leaders are hands-on, managing their stations while proactively addressing tasks as needed to meet operational goals and exceed customer expectations.

This position offers competitive compensation, free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition assistance of up to $5,250 per year or full coverage for select degrees, paid time off, holiday closures, digital tips, and clear opportunities for career advancement, with 80% of managers beginning their careers as crew members. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a community committed to revolutionizing the fast food industry while prioritizing people, planet, and progress. With this role, you will not only gain valuable culinary and leadership skills but will actively contribute to Chipotle’s mission to make better food accessible to everyone.
