The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about food quality and team leadership in a fast-paced environment. As a Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, ensuring that every dish meets Chipotle’s high standards of deliciousness and quality. This role demands overseeing kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness, stock levels, and equipment functionality, all while adhering strictly to safety and sanitation guidelines. More than just a food preparer, the Kitchen Leader is a mentor, training crew members and leading by example to build strong teamwork between the back-of-house kitchen team and the front-of-house crews. The Kitchen Leader is actively involved in managing food waste, inventory, quality control, and efficient kitchen throughput, ensuring the overall guest experience is exceptional from start to finish. This is a dynamic role that requires a hands-on approach, constant problem-solving, and effective communication within a supportive and inclusive team environment. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • developing crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • ensuring that the kitchen and all crew members meet necessary safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and inventory rotation (FIFO)
