As a Kitchen Leader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards that Chipotle is famous for. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the food prepared is delicious, fresh, and prepared according to Chipotle’s high-quality recipes and safety guidelines. This includes mastering techniques such as grilling meats and sautéing vegetables, as well as overseeing food preparation processes to uphold food safety and quality. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader also acts as a role model and mentor within the team. Additionally, managing documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and following inventory rotation protocols will be part of your day-to-day tasks.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair and making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet guidelines to avoid injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
