The Kitchen Lead position at Gather is a pivotal role designed for an organized and dependable culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key responsibilities include preparing and executing recipes accurately according to company specifications, completing daily prep lists to meet production timelines, and maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation standards across all menu items. The Kitchen Lead will also assist with packaging, assembling, and delivering catering orders, coordinating off-site events, replenishment services, and occasional pop-up events, providing vital support to the overall catering team. In addition, the role demands meticulous attention to inventory levels, proper product rotation, and storage procedures, along with keeping all kitchen areas clean and organized.
Sanitation and food safety are paramount at Gather, and the Kitchen Lead is responsible for upholding all health department regulations and food safety protocols. Job Requirements
- Familiarity with Google Docs and Gmail
- valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

- Previous kitchen, catering, or food service leadership experience preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare and execute recipes accurately and consistently to company specifications
- complete daily prep lists and ensure production timelines are met
- assist with cooking, packaging, and assembling catering orders

- support efficient kitchen workflow and organization during production
- assist with overseeing daily catering order production

- help coordinate packaging, labeling, transport readiness, and order organization
- support replenishment and full-service catering events when needed
- assist with pop-up events and special event production as needed
- monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs
- assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
- maintain proper product rotation and storage procedures (FIFO)
- keep kitchen equipment, prep areas, dry storage, refrigeration, and workspaces organized and clean
- follow all health department regulations and food safety standards
- manage and maintain proper food handling, storage, cleaning, and sanitizing procedures
