The Dishwasher Supervisor role is a full-time position reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, with working shifts flexible to meet operational needs. This critical supervisory position ensures the daily operations of the dishwashing staff run smoothly and effectively. The Dishwasher Supervisor is responsible for maintaining proper kitchen cleanliness and hygiene by overseeing dish machine operators and ensuring all dishwashing and cleaning procedures are followed meticulously. Responsibilities not only include supervising but also training new dish machine operators in proper cleaning techniques and equipment handling. The supervisor manages supply levels for washing chemicals and coordinates maintenance or repairs for dishwashing equipment.
In addition, the Dishwasher Supervisor actively contributes to environmental sustainability efforts by assisting in recycling kitchen refuse and enforcing proper waste disposal methods. Maintaining a safe and organized working environment in the dishwashing and kitchen areas is paramount. The role occasionally requires physical exertion such as lifting heavy kitchen supplies or equipment and standing for extended periods. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move at least 50 pounds
- Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred
- Friendly attitude and positive teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of kitchen cleaning procedures

Job Duties
- Responsible for performance of the dish machine staff in their nightly sweeping, mopping, and dishwasher breakdown and overall condition of the kitchen daily
- Teaches new dish machine operators the methods of proper pre-scraping and pre-spray of all soiled dishes, pots, and pans, racking glassware and dishes, sorting silverware, and placing pots and pans in triple sink for washing
- Makes sure that all dish machine operators know how to set up dish machine, checking levels of all washing supplies, i.e., soap, rinse, etc.
- advises Chef if any maintenance is needed for dish area equipment, or if chemicals are needed
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment in the dish areas and kitchen
- Assist in the collection of recycled kitchen refuse and properly disposes of items in trash compactor or recycling bins
- Supervises the monthly cleaning of the kitchens and equipment such as hood cleaning or other special cleaning needs
- Performs other duties as assigned
