Job Description

Our client is a dedicated nonprofit ministry focusing on supporting women and children, particularly those experiencing homelessness and other challenging life circumstances. They provide a compassionate environment where vulnerable individuals can find hope, healing, and restoration through various ministry programs and services. The organization prides itself on creating a safe, nurturing space that fosters growth, empowerment, and spiritual renewal within the community it serves. By partnering with both staff and volunteers, the client works tirelessly to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who rely on their services.

They are currently seeking a passionate and organized Kitchen Coordinator to join their team specifically within the Women & Children's Ministries. This role is vital as it directly supports the health and well-being of program participants by managing the kitchen operations that offer nutritious meals. The Kitchen Coordinator will work Wednesday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., earning between $20.51 and $26.16 per hour depending on experience. This position is not only about food preparation but also about fostering a welcoming and healing atmosphere that aligns with the ministry’s mission and values.

As the Kitchen Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing meal planning, preparation, and execution while ensuring all meals served meet high standards of quality and safety. You will collaborate closely with staff, volunteers, and guests participating in work therapy programs, helping to cultivate a team-oriented kitchen environment. The role also involves inventory management, ensuring supplies are well-stocked and organized, and maintaining strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

The organization offers a robust benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, and 24/7 virtual mental health support. There is a strong emphasis on work-life balance, with generous paid time off including vacation, holidays, a personal day, and a birthday holiday. Additionally, employees can participate in retirement planning programs with company matching, and there are opportunities for professional development through continuing education reimbursement. These benefits reflect the organization's commitment to supporting the long-term success and well-being of its team members.

Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, the Kitchen Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the larger mission of seeing every homeless neighbor as beloved, redeemed, and restored. The position requires alignment with the organization’s statement of faith, underlying every facet of their ministry work. The ideal candidate embraces these values, bringing both skill and heart to their service within this enriching and impactful environment. Joining this team means contributing to a greater purpose through meaningful work that touches lives in transformative ways.
