Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in a cooking or culinary role
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
  • Essential food safety certification if not already obtained
  • Basic math skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Former engagement as a cook or in a relevant culinary capacity
  • Sound comprehension of cooking methods and principles essential for food preparation
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Obtained or able to obtain essential food safety certification
  • Foundational skills in mathematics and counting
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not compulsory

Job Duties

  • Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • Arrange work areas with necessary ingredients and tools
  • Cut, trim, measure, and blend ingredients as required
  • Safely operate kitchen appliances including knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers
  • Prepare and cook dishes using baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other methods
  • Present and distribute meals according to appearance and quantity standards
  • Adhere to food safety protocols and proper food storage
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, machinery, and tools
  • Provide outstanding customer service with a positive mindset
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies
  • Protect organizational property security
