Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a cooking or culinary role
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
- Essential food safety certification if not already obtained
- Basic math skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Job Qualifications
- Former engagement as a cook or in a relevant culinary capacity
- Sound comprehension of cooking methods and principles essential for food preparation
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Obtained or able to obtain essential food safety certification
- Foundational skills in mathematics and counting
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not compulsory
Job Duties
- Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
- Arrange work areas with necessary ingredients and tools
- Cut, trim, measure, and blend ingredients as required
- Safely operate kitchen appliances including knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers
- Prepare and cook dishes using baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other methods
- Present and distribute meals according to appearance and quantity standards
- Adhere to food safety protocols and proper food storage
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, machinery, and tools
- Provide outstanding customer service with a positive mindset
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies
- Protect organizational property security
