Job Description

Upper Crust Food Service is a distinguished food service company specializing in serving Sororities and Fraternities across the United States. Renowned for its commitment to freshness, quality, variety, and exceptional customer service, Upper Crust Food Service was founded to address a common challenge faced by many Fraternity and Sorority houses — the lack of consistency and professionalism in their kitchens. Over the years, the company has stayed true to its original vision, offering great food complemented by personal service. Today, Upper Crust Food Service prepares tens of thousands of meals weekly for students nationwide, positioning itself as a reliable and trusted partner in collegiate dining.

Upper Crust operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that demands efficiency, teamwork, and attention to detail. As a Kitchen Assistant at Upper Crust Food Service, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary team and ensuring the smooth operation of all kitchen processes. This is an hourly employment position with a pay range of 15 to 19 USD per hour, providing a competitive wage within the food service industry. Your responsibilities will include preparing food as directed by the Head Chef and Sous Chef, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, managing kitchen supplies, and assisting with deliveries.

The role goes beyond food preparation, as Kitchen Assistants are crucial in fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere among coworkers and customers. You will be expected to maintain professional and courteous communication with management and team members alike. The job requires physical stamina due to the demands of the kitchen environment including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and exposure to temperature extremes and kitchen hazards.

This position offers an opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a professional and supportive setting, with the added benefit of working in a company that champions equality and diversity in its workforce. Upper Crust Food Service is an equal opportunity employer that prohibits discrimination and harassment based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, or any other protected characteristic. By joining Upper Crust Food Service, you become part of a team dedicated to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction in a respectful and inclusive workplace.
