The position of Line Cook or Prep Cook involves completing all assigned prep work, setting up and maintaining the cook's station, and ensuring that every menu item is prepared according to Applebee's Recipes, Plate Presentations, and specifications. Team members uphold stringent standards for product quality, presentation, and cook time to consistently deliver exceptional food experiences. While prior cooking experience is preferred, it is not required, making this an accessible entry point into the culinary and hospitality industry.

Working at Applebee's also demands strong communication skills, as employees must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to coworkers, dining room staff, and guests. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing and moving briskly for up to six hours, lifting equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, and demonstrating fine motor skills when using small kitchen tools.
