Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of relevant experience in kitchen or food service management
- Ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to control food and labor costs
- Strong physical ability to perform tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- Excellent communication and literacy skills
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of employment in a related kitchen or food service position
- Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
- Experience in managing people and complex food and beverage operations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to analyze budgets and prepare reports
Job Duties
- Manage the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurant(s) and room service to ensure a quality, consistent product which conforms to all franchise standards
- Manage human resources in the production and preparation areas of the kitchen to attract, retain and motivate employees while providing a safe work environment
- Interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel kitchen staff
- Schedule and manage the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment and related areas to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Monitor, analyze and control all labor and food costs
- Prepare reports, charts and schedules to ensure budgets are met or exceeded while maintaining quality
- Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses
