Job Description

Aleut Federal is an Alaskan Native-owned enterprise committed to supporting its Shareholders, the Unangax, the indigenous people of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. At Aleut Federal, the company mission is deeply intertwined with the values and culture of its workforce. People are at the heart of everything the company does, focusing on delivering excellent service and quality results to clients across various branches of the federal government. Aleut Federal is dedicated to engaging local markets, which exemplifies its commitment to community service as part of its core operations. The organization nurtures the strength of its workforce through mentorship and coaching programs, providing opportunities for growth, competitive benefits, and fostering an inclusive working environment. Diversity, inclusion, and accountability are foundational principles that Aleut Federal upholds, ensuring every team member feels valued and supported. Embracing the motto "We are One," the company believes in uniting with one heart, one mind, and one purpose to accomplish its mission and maintain a workplace culture that any employee would be proud to belong to.

This Cleaning Specialist role is critical to maintaining the health, safety, and appearance of Aleut Federal’s facilities. Responsible for a wide array of janitorial tasks, the Cleaning Specialist performs duties including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and rubbish removal. The specialist must carefully mix water and detergents to prevent damage to floors and furniture and use such chemicals appropriately with proper labeling. Beyond routine cleaning, this position involves service and supply replenishment in restrooms, furniture polishing, window cleaning, dusting office furniture and equipment, carpet care including spot cleaning and shampooing, and floor maintenance through stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing. Additionally, the role requires operating vehicles such as vans to travel between work sites and the manual or assisted moving of equipment and supplies.

The position demands a proactive approach to reporting major equipment repairs or needed supplies to leadership, maintaining a professional demeanor, and ensuring the job site is left clean and orderly. The job involves physical activity such as standing, walking, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and enduring repetitive tasks over extended periods. This is a full-time, hourly position with a rate of $18.47 per hour, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Candidates must meet specific legal requirements including US citizenship or lawful permanent residency, ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance, and possession of a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Aleut Federal offers an attractive benefits package including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. The company’s inclusive culture celebrates diversity regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other personal or demographic characteristic, making it a welcoming and supportive place to grow a career. Joining Aleut Federal means becoming part of a mission-driven team committed to quality, community, and collaboration in a role essential to the upkeep and presentation of the company’s facilities.
