Job Description

Porter Logistics is a dynamic and rapidly expanding third-party logistics (3PL) provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the past decade, Porter Logistics has evolved from a small two-person operation housed in a modest 10,000-square-foot warehouse to a major player in the 3PL industry, now supporting more than 1 million square feet across multiple warehouse facilities throughout Georgia. Known for its innovative approach to modern warehousing and fulfillment, Porter Logistics prides itself on creating a workplace culture that builds careers rather than merely filling job roles. This tight-knit company values its employees by fostering an environment where leadership is approachable, every team member's work creates visible impact daily, and hard work is rewarded with real professional advancement opportunities. Many of Porter Logistics' current leaders began their careers within entry-level positions, showcasing the company’s commitment to internal career growth.

The Inventory Specialist role at Porter Logistics is critical to the company’s overall success and reputation for precision in service delivery. Inventory acts as the backbone for all client operations, and this position requires someone who embraces responsibility for the accuracy and organization of warehouse inventory. This role is not passive data entry; it demands proactive management of cycle counts, meticulous resolution of inventory discrepancies, and maintaining precise records within the warehouse management system (WMS). The Inventory Specialist collaborates closely with multiple departments—warehouse operations, leadership, customer success, and even the clients themselves—to ensure the highest levels of inventory accuracy and accountability. Communication skills are vital, as this person will be the go-to problem solver when inventory numbers don’t align and discrepancies arise. Accountability, clear communication, and attention to detail are hallmarks of successful candidates.

This full-time, hourly position requires physical presence on-site at the warehouse with standard hours from 8 am to 4 pm. The salary range is competitively set between $20 and $23 per hour, depending on experience, and includes medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, paid time off, and company holidays, providing a comprehensive benefits package. This role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments where no two days are the same and where ownership of their work directly influences client satisfaction and company success. Candidates should be ready to grow professionally within a company well-known for promoting from within and fostering internal talent. This role is ideal for those who enjoy cross-team collaboration, are detail-oriented, and possess a sense of pride in delivering accurate, error-free inventory management.
