Job Description

Nordstrom is a leading fashion retailer known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and innovation within the retail industry. Established as a multi-channel retailer, Nordstrom operates full-line stores, Nordstrom Rack outlets, and eCommerce platforms that cater to fashion-forward customers looking for high-quality apparel, shoes, accessories, and beauty products. The company values its employees as its most important asset, constantly investing in their development and ensuring a supportive work environment. With locations nationwide, including the vibrant Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, California, Nordstrom continues to maintain its reputation for excellence and community engagement.

This role is perfect for those who are passionate about quality food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and aspire to lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The position offers a comprehensive Manager in Training program designed to immerse you in all aspects of running a successful kitchen, including cooking from scratch, managing a talented kitchen crew, and developing business strategies that drive growth, efficiency, and profitability.

As a Chef at Nordstrom, your daily responsibilities will include leading the kitchen staff as they prepare both tried-and-true recipes and weekly specials, ensuring all food meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will also play a critical role in training, motivating, and developing the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Attention to cleanliness and kitchen organization is paramount, as you will be responsible for maintaining a kitchen that consistently meets the white-glove standard.

This full-time position offers an annual salary range of $48,000 to $77,000, commensurate with experience and location, and may include performance-based incentives and bonuses. Nordstrom supports its employees with an extensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance options, 401k retirement plans, paid time off, holidays, and exclusive merchandise discounts. The company advocates for inclusivity and accommodates applicants with disabilities, ensuring equal opportunity in its hiring practices.

Working at Nordstrom not only means joining a renowned retail institution but also becoming part of a vibrant team that values professionalism, creativity, and personal growth. If you have a strong background in upscale restaurant management, a passion for culinary arts, and the skills to thrive in a dynamic kitchen environment, this role offers an excellent opportunity to elevate your career while contributing to the rich dining experience synonymous with Nordstrom.
