Lockheed Martin Space is a globally recognized leader in aerospace and defense technologies, specializing in the development and advancement of space systems that are integral to national security and technological innovation. As a division of Lockheed Martin, the company is committed to pushing the boundaries of what space technology can achieve by fostering innovation, reducing costs, and creating resilient, future-ready solutions for the 21st century. With a strong focus on connectivity, security, and prosperity, Lockheed Martin Space seeks to transform how space is perceived and utilized, not just as a destination but as a vital domain for innovation and collaboration across industries and governments worldwide.
Located in Colorado Springs, Lockheed Martin Space offers an exciting opportunity for a Level 4 Program Planner to join its mission-driven team. The company prides itself on its inclusive culture, where integrity, corporate responsibility, and employee empowerment are at the forefront. This role is full-time, onsite, and integral to ensuring the successful performance and delivery of space programs that are critical to national security and technological advancement. The annual base salary ranges from $95,000 to $167,440 depending on location and candidate qualifications, with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees both professionally and personally.
As a Level 4 Program Planner at Lockheed Martin Space, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Finance/Business Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Program Management. Your primary focus will be to develop and maintain compliant Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), ensuring accurate validation of contractual scope, workflow, and resources required to execute complex space programs efficiently. This planning role requires expertise in performance measurement baselines, critical path analysis, and earned value management (EVM) to monitor project progress and facilitate communication among teams and stakeholders.
Your work will directly impact the delivery timelines and success of large-scale programs, many exceeding $500 million in value, supporting national security and space exploration objectives. You will serve as a key interface for scheduling information, provide schedule impact analysis, and assist in negotiating technical content and schedule handoffs between product areas. Proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Open Plan is essential, along with strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to prepare and present detailed reports and metrics.
The ideal candidate will have experience with EVM including cost and schedule integration, schedule risk analysis, and advanced scheduling techniques. Those with an active Top Secret clearance and knowledge of compliance audits, corporate policies, and government surveillance processes will find themselves well-prepared to excel in this role. Additionally, familiarity with Agile methodologies within an IMS environment and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting are highly valued.
Lockheed Martin Space offers a supportive, community-minded work environment with a commitment to diversity, career development, and lifelong learning. For veterans transitioning to civilian life, the company provides resources and programs to facilitate a smooth reintegration. Employees benefit from flexible work schedules, generous paid time off, and a workplace culture that values innovation, collaboration, and the pursuit of purpose-driven work. Join Lockheed Martin Space and be a part of shaping the future of space technology, securing critical missions, and advancing global capabilities in the dynamic realm of space exploration and defense.
